Crew
HB-YJP is owned, piloted, and maintained by Samuel Hofmann and Marc Rauch. For this purpose the two Swiss founded the Experimental Aircraft Flying Association (EAFA).After accompanying his father on many paraglider flights Marc took his first flying lessons at age 17 in the US (and paid for them himself). The private pilot’s license followed four months later and back home in Switzerland Marc got his Swiss license as well. With the fist money earned after finishing college he bought one half of HB-YJP.
Before buying their Kitfox, Sam spent many hours on the right seat flying in the Swiss Alps with Marc and it must have been somewhere there that Sam got hooked. He decided to link his language studies in Florida with pilot training and received his wings at Flight Safety in 2006. Two weeks later Sam bought the other half of HB-YJP.
